Cookie Policy

The short version

We use only the cookies the website needs to work, plus anonymised analytics only if you allow them in the cookie banner. No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, no selling your browsing behaviour.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device to remember things between visits, like keeping you signed in or remembering a preference. Some are essential for a site to function. Others are optional.

2. The cookies we use

Essential cookies.

These make the website work: serving pages securely, keeping you signed in to the demo, and remembering your session. They are strictly technical, they do not track you across other websites, and the site cannot function without them. Because they are essential, they do not require consent, though the cookie banner tells you about them when you first visit.

Specifically, signing in to the demo sets cookies whose names begin with sb- and end with -auth-token (sometimes split into numbered parts). They are set by Supabase, the service that runs our sign-in, and they keep you signed in between visits. They last up to 400 days, or until you sign out or clear them from your browser. If you never sign in, no sign-in cookie is set.

Alongside cookies, the site keeps two small preferences in your browser's local storage: your light or dark theme choice, and your answer to the cookie banner. These stay on your device and are not sent to us.

Analytics cookies (only if you allow them).

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use nixly.in: which pages are read, how long visits last, and where visitors come from. This helps us improve the website. The data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.

Nothing analytics-related happens until you choose. When you first visit, the cookie banner asks whether to allow analytics. If you decline, no analytics cookie is set and every part of the site still works. If you allow analytics, Google Analytics sets two cookies: _ga, and _ga_ followed by our property code. Both are used to tell returning visitors apart, and both last up to two years. Google processes this data on its own servers, which may be located outside India.

You can change your choice at any time with the button below; withdrawing applies from your next page view.

What we do not use.

No advertising cookies. No social media tracking pixels. No third-party cookies that follow you around the internet. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated first and you will be asked before anything non-essential is set.

3. Your choices

You are in control:

  • The cookie banner. Your first visit asks whether to allow analytics. To change your answer later, use this button:
  • Browser settings. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site, like the demo sign-in, from working.
  • Google Analytics opt-out. Google provides a browser add-on that blocks Analytics on every site, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • Ask us. If you have any question about cookies on nixly.in, write to privacy@nixly.in.

4. Changes to this policy

If our cookie usage changes, we will update this page with a new date before the change takes effect.
